This is a white Zinfandel style wine. We used home-grown red grapes and attempted to make a dark red wine, but it came out as a rosé. The winemaker was disappointed at first and was going to discard the wine, but his wife said "Make me happy and sweeten it up." She was right, and this is why we named it Makin Mamma Happy. (10.0 Abv)

Tasting Notes: A semi-sweet rosé wine. It was supposed to be a dark red wine, but it turned out pink. The winemaker was disappointed and nearly discarded the batch, but his wife said “make me happy and sweeten it up.” This is how it got the name Makin Mamma Happy.

Winemaker Notes: Made in the white zinfandel style. Villard Noir is a dark purple grape, but when you press the grape the juice is white. It’s the pigments in the skins that change the color of the juice. To make a red wine, we keep the purple skins in contact with the juice for several weeks. To make a rosé wine, we keep the purple skins in contact with the juice for a few days.
